Emma Woods

Emma Woods, age 78, was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Matilda Rickmon and the late George Woods. Emma loved the New Orleans culture: Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and gatherings with her family, especially cooking and dancing. She leaves to cherish her memories with her kids: Anthony Rickmon, Antionette Rickmon-Mccloud, Kevin Rickmon, Michelle Rickmon, and the late Joseph Rickmon, her 14 grandkids, and 28 great-grandchildren. Emma is also survived by her five sisters: Ruth Hooks, Cathy Rickmon, Joyce Jiles, Rhonda Rickmon, and the late Lois Rickmon. Two brothers Clarence Rickmon and the late Ronald Rickmon. One daughter-in-law Shelita Rickmon and one son-in-law Carl Mccloud. Two brothers-in-law Kelly Robinson and the late Michael Jiles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by Emma Ford, Cleveland Ford, Matilda Rickmon, George Woods, Joseph Rickmon, Lois Rickmon, and Ronald Rickmon. Emma was employed at Lafon Nursing Home, Chateau De Notre Dame and Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home. A homegoing celebration honoring the life of Emma Woods will be held at Jacob Schoen and Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Friday, May 26, 2023, Visitation 10:00am-12:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00pm, with Rev. Antoine Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery,4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001.
