Eloise Blunt

Elouise Grandison Blunt departed this life on February 11, 2021 at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina then relocated to Houston, Texas. She was the devoted wife of Gilbert Blunt. Loving mother of Marcia and Gilbert (Buster) Blunt. Grandmother of Whitney and Jasmine Blunt and Nylah Peters. Great grandmother of Jarrell Blunt. Sister of Stanford Grandison. Sister in law of George (Pearl), Barbara, Patricia and Erma Blunt, Peggy Patterson, Cynthia (Larry) Scott, Elma Barre and the late Sidney Blunt, III (Delores) and Edward Blunt and Sylvia Grandison. Godmother of Lizette Jackson, Sarita Melson and Yuri Chapman. Preceded in death by her mother Hazel Dorman Grandison, her father Stanford Grandison, mother in law Marie Blunt, father in law Sidney Blunt. She graduated from Xavier Preparatory and then attended Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in 1965 where she graduated in 1968. She was a Nursing Supervisor at St Charles General Hospital up until her retirement due to illness. Her nursing career spanned 42 years. The family would like to thank the nurses and caretakers at St. Joseph's Hospice: Ms. Barbara, Ursula and Bernice for their hard work and dedication.  She adored every second with you ladies. Relatives and friends, pastors, officers and members of St Luke's Episcopal Church are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 12:15 PM in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until service time. Reverend David Duplantier officiating. Burial will be private. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, everyone must wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
