Edward Albert Spieler Sr

Edward A. “Spider” Spieler, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023.  He was 80 years old. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Neola Johnson Spieler and Albert Edward Spieler. 

He is the beloved father of Edward Spieler Jr (Sherri), Bradley Spieler MD FSAR (Catey) and Matthew Spieler. He is the loving grandfather of Margaret Spieler Greco, Calvin, Wiley, Clarke, and Ryder Spieler.

Spider was quick witted and could make anyone laugh. He was an animal lover with a green thumb. He loved tinkering in his garden and vibrant fish pond.

Ed approached life with an implacable smile and a knack for bringing joy to the lives of everyone he met. He loved his family and took great pride in his sons and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial to be held at Jacob Schoen and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2023. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm with Liturgy of the Word at 2:00 pm. A private burial will be held at Hope Mausoleum immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorials to Saints Fans Being Saints Fund- University Medical Center New Orleans.
