Edward Francisco Rodriguez, Jr., 68, ended his 3-year battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Born March 9, 1950 in Havana, Cuba to the late Dr. Eduardo Francisco Rodriguez and Marta Barrios Rodriguez, he came to the US via Spain and Australia, finally settling in Louisiana, and most recently a resident of Laplace, LA.
He is preceded in death by his wife/companion of 30 years, Rosalie Rodriguez. Ed is survived by his children, Eduardo F. Rodriguez III (Gina) and Nancy Rodriguez-Creighton, and their mother, Paula; his two brothers, Gustavo Adolfo Rodriguez (Margie) and Orlando Jorge Rodriguez (Laura); granddaughters, Corinna Rodriguez and Yahaira Rodriguez; and great-grandson, Xavier Williams.
Ed was a graduate of St. Francisville High School. He worked as a chemist in the oil industry for various companies (Witco Chemical Refinery, SGS Control Services, LOOP, ESI), with completion of his career as an estimator at Cembell Industries in Montz, LA. Ed “QBA” proudly co-founded the Creole Classic Fishing Tournament in Leesville, LA with his good friend, “BBY”.
Family, friends and former coworkers are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Jacob Schoen & Sons Funeral Home (3827 Canal Street, New Orleans 70119) at 1pm. Visitation will precede the service from 11am to 1pm. Private interment at a later date.
