Donna Sweeney Quick passed away Saturday February 24, at her home in Kenner following an eighteen-month struggle with biliary cancer. She was comforted by family, friends and colleagues throughout her journey against her disease.

Donna was born December 14, 1960, and is preceded in death by her Father, Bernard Sweeney Jr., brother, Keith Sweeney. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Keith Quick. She is the mother of two sons Ryan Quick and Blake Quick; grandmother to Emma, Lily, Amelia and Gavin, who lovingly called her Nonna; mother in law to Kristy Quick, wife of Ryan and loved friend to Gnatalie Crawford, companion of Blake. Donna is the daughter of Lynn McCarthy Sweeney, sister of Cindy Boyer (Donald), Kathy Ledet, Kerry Sweeney (Kathy), Sherry Schuster (Warren) and Scott Sweeney (Sharon).

Donna was raised in the Gentilly area of New Orleans and moved to New Orleans east just before her marriage to Keith in 1981. They have been residents of Kenner, LA, living in the Driftwood subdivision until 2011 and Chateau Estates from 2011 to her passing.

Donna graduated from Cabrini High School in 1978 and Louisiana School of Radiologic Technology in 1980. In high school she was a member of Beta Delta Pi sorority and went on to become President. Her professional career as a Radiology Tech began at Methodist Hospital in New Orleans and included University Hospital where she was manager of her department, and concluded at Diagnostic Imaging as a Mammographer. In 1991, Donna started Event Producers Inc., a successful live event production company, with husband Keith and worked as Vice President of Finance until September 2016 when she was diagnosed with cancer.

As a young woman, Donna was a maid in the Alhambra Ball Masque. She was active civically throughout the city of Kenner, serving in multiple roles from 1986 - 2012 including president of the Driftwood Civic Association as well as president and treasurer of the Driftwood Country Club. In 1998, Donna was named queen of the Driftwood Parade for her contributions to the community. She also volunteered as a hospice caregiver. Donna was an avid tennis player at Driftwood Country Club and Chateau Estates Country Club and participated in tennis leagues throughout the City of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish.

The family wishes to thank their dear friends, relatives and employees for their love and support throughout Donna's cancer fight. You have been a constant source of love and strength.

There will be a night visitation at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home on Friday, March 2 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Parkway, Kenner LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until 11:15 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 am. Burial will be held at Cypress Grove Cemetery for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Association in the name of Donna Quick. Condolences may be expressed at www.schoenfh.com
