David Michael Murray

October 7, 1960 ~ June 27, 2020 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Tribute

David Michael Murray, age 59, passed away June 27th, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. David lived a great life exactly the way he wanted to live it. He wore many hats in his life and was accomplished in the fields of stage lighting, truck driving, restaurant ownership, fiber optic wiring installation and commercial fishing to name just a few. He was also moderately accomplished at building and fixing things but hated doing it and would cuss the whole time. David was a very generous man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His seafood boils, fish frys and bar-b-qs will be remembered by many. He was a great entertainer. He was a fantastic teller of tall tales and dirty jokes. David was well travelled, but in recent years he could most often be found in his cabana in shrimp boots and cutoff shorts, with a bud light in his hand and a smile on his face. He is survived by his beloved "Mother Dear" Nathalie Murray, sister Lynn Allen and brothers William "Bill" Murray and Kevin Murray. He was the loving father of Maegan Beachler and was soon to be the grandfather of Rowen Beachler. He is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews and way too many friends to count. He was preceded in death by his father John Murray, Sr. and brother John “Johnny” Murray. He was so much more than could possibly be squeezed into a few paragraphs and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him well. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 12:30 PM-3:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020 at JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
