The fabulous Connie Walker crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Paradise just in time for Happy Hour on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Born January 4, 1953, in Jacksonville, IL, she was raised by her relatives in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she attended the American School. Her life long love of New Orleans began with her attendance at and graduation from Tulane University (Class of 1974). Ms. Walker’s long career in New Orleans real estate began as an agent with Sunbelt Realty and later as a broker with Latter & Blum. Ms. Walker eventually set out on her own as Walker Realty, specializing in the sale and management of properties in the Historic Districts of our fair city. Ms. Walker was also the hostess with the mostest at the popular vacation rental Casa Conchita, a “bed & beverage inn” located on Washington Square in the Faubourg Marigny.

Ms. Walker was preceded in death by her first husband attorney William Miles and is survived by her beloved life partner, Lew Cascone, her step children Lee Miles (of Austin TX) and Allison Duhe, her sister and brother-in-law Christie and Johnny Mayfield (of Dallas TX) in-laws Rick and Rachel Miles and Mike and Cindy Miles (all of El Paso TX), nieces and nephews Marissa &  Leah Mayfield, Chrissy, Brian, Chandra, R.D., Barbara, Katie Sean & Hillary Miles, and great nieces and nephews, Hailey Mayfield and Riley, Luke, Carter, Griffin, Merin, Hattie and, her namesake, Walker Miles. Ms. Walker will be sorely missed by her dear friends, Lauren Glonek, Linda May, Liz Winston, Kathy McGehee, Chris Schleuss, Sara Hauge, Tom Herman, Jim Juhl, Peter Mcdonald, Kacey Roberts, Rob Dunn and her devoted fur baby, Halle Berry.

A celebration of Ms. Walker’s life will be held later this summer at Casa Conchita.
