Clifford E. Watts, “Cliff”, 75, passed away on November 4, 2021 at his home in Metairie, LA with the love of his life by his side. He was born July 15, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa to Milton and Berniece Watts who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Benedict Watts; one daughter, Christine Freeman (John); three sons, Phillip Watts (Carla), Timmy Watts (Katrena), and Clifford “Chip” Watts; five grandchildren, Ashley Willard, Joshua Rieffel, Victoria Michelli, Gavin Michelli, and Braelyn Freeman; three step-grandchildren, Jason Hersey, Jennifer Foster, and Sam Foster; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Beverly Godsey Wohlers (Don), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his best friend, Gene Poirrier and fur-baby, Buddy. Cliff worked for Whiteman Towing and then Crescent Towing prior to becoming a River Pilot with The Associated Federal Pilots and Docking Masters of Louisiana in 1983, retiring with 28 years of service in 2011. He enjoyed fishing and hunting as a member of Cagle Springs Hunting Camp in Hampton, AR.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, in New Orleans, LA. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 12:15 PM in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Louis #3 Cemetery, 3421 Esplanade Ave, following the chapel service.
