Christopher Michael Chappuis

Christopher Chappuis passed away peacefully Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Ochsner Medical Center. Chris was born December 29, 1981 in New Orleans, LA to his loving and supportive parents, Michael and Sukie Chappuis. Born and raised in New Orleans, he was a proud graduate of Holy Cross HS New Orleans, LA; Faulkner State Community College Bay Minette, AL; and Loyola University New Orleans, LA. Chris’ biggest passion was baseball. Whether playing through his collegiate years or coaching at Holy Cross HS, Newman HS, and NORD, he not only enjoyed the game, he enjoyed the life long relationships that came from the game. He was never really the biggest guy on the field, but always played with the most heart. And that’s how he lived his life.
Chris is survived by his parents, Mike and Sukie Chappuis, his loving brother Jonathan Chappuis (fiancé Anna Strahan), and grandmother Mary Ann Chappuis. He is preceded in death by grandparents Eugene Chappuis, Arthur and Bobbie Kikuchi. Nephew to Nancy Jenkins (Eddie), the late Gene Chappuis (Michelle), the late David Chappuis, Scott Chappuis (Heidi), Paul Chappuis, Christine Abadie (Donald), Edie Abernathy (David), Michael Kikuchi, Debra Banquer (Doug), the late Rosanna Stieffel (David), Nikki Ventura (Drew), Ramona Arceneaux, Anna Kikuchi (Leslie), Cliff Kikuchi, Brenda Kikuchi, and Tammy Weaver (Elgin). Great nephew to William and the late Margaret Kikuchi, the late Kay and Theresa Kikuchi, the late Paul Kikuchi, the late Ben Kikuchi, and Carl Garrett (Joann). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Chris was also a guardian to Amari and A’mir Korieocha, and Remi Lee.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans LA. Visitation will begin at 8:30 am and continue until Mass time. Condolences may be expressed at www.schoenfh.com
