Charles Alexander Hemmans, a native of Honduras, a United States Army Veteran and resident of New Orleans departed this earth on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The son of the late Rupert and Doris Hemmans, Mr. Hemmans, who at the time of his death was just shy of his seventy-third birthday, is survived by his wife and soulmate of fifty years, Leonor Suyapa Hemmans. Mr. Hemmans is also survived by his two daughters, Melissa Hemmans Henderson (Ron) and Brianne Alexandra Hemmans, as well as three brothers, Ernesto Miller, Rupert Hemmans, Jr. (Jean) and Adolf Hemmans (Helene), one sister, Althea Hewitt, and three granddaughters, Alexandra Christina Henderson, Olivia Hemmans Sterling and Ava Catherine Henderson.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Mr. Hemmans’ funeral services which will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, located at 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., and funeral services will commence at 9:45 a.m., with interment to follow immediately thereafter at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3241 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana.
