CELINA GOMEZ WATERS, 83, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband Sidney Thomas Waters (Sid) at their home on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Mrs. Waters was born in Managua, Nicaragua and lived in Metairie most of her life. Mrs. Waters' passion was her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Sidney Thomas Waters , daughter Martha Waters Lowe and husband Cyril G. Lowe, Jr. (Cy) of Metairie, son Aldo J. Waters and wife Teresa Harris Waters of Ardmore, Oklahoma, son Paul M. Waters, her sister Terry Rockhold-Michaud of Charleston, South Carolina, and her brother Alfredo Gomez-Naranjo of Costa Rica, and 5 grandchildren, Sydney and Cy Lowe of Metairie, 2nd Lieutenant Sam Waters, United States Air Force, Max Waters of Denver, Colorado, and Nick Waters of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and special family friend and care-giver Luisa Flores. She was pre-deceased by her parents Luisa Amanda Naranjo-Roa of Costa Rica, and Jose Maria Gomez-Morales of Nicaragua. A private Mass will be held by the family on Saturday, June 24, 2017, followed by a Celebration of Life to which friends and family are invited at 1:30 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home in New Orleans.
