Tribute

Cathy McCulley Langhoff, 67, passed away at her Lake Terrace home on November 15th, 2022, after a five-year battle with endometrial cancer. Cathy, born May 1955, was a lifelong New Orleans resident. She graduated from Warren Easton High School in ’73 and University of New Orleans with a BA in Theater. Dedicated to her community, she was an active member of Lake Terrace Garden Club, New Orleans Garden Society, the Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc, DAR Freedoms Foundation, and the Society of the War of 1812. She was a former President of the Lake Terrace Property Owners Association and a former Regent of Spirit of '76 chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Cathy's gentle kindness, incredible strength, and limitless creativity enchanted all who met her. Her home was always open to friends, and she hosted several workshops for various organizations to create handmade decorative pieces. Alongside her embodiment of southern hospitality, Cathy possessed a demure rebellious side, as in her youth she taught firewalking and participated in several skydiving jumps. She is survived by her loving & dedicated husband of 30 years, Irwin John Langhoff Jr.; daughter, Allyson Langhoff; father, Alton McCulley; brothers, Joseph MuCulley and Douglas “Chip” McCoy; several nieces and nephews, and a circle of caring friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM followed by a chapel service at 1:30 PM at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119.
