Carolyn Develle Grice

Carolyn Ann Develle Grice, age 81, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Mrs. Grice was a native New Orleanian, and lived in Lakeview for over 50 years.  A life-long member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.  First a volunteer, then eventually becoming a full-time team member at Covenant House of New Orleans, she cherished her time there for over 20 years.  Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. “Larry” Grice, Sr. and her brother, James “Jimmy” Develle (Lola).  Survived by her 2 children, Lara Grice (Stephen Perret) and Joseph “Jody” L. Grice, Jr.  Beloved aunt to 4 nieces and 2 nephews. Beloved “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her celebration of life with family and friends will take place Monday, October 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:15 PM in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel, with interment to follow in St. Louis #3 Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations are requested to St. Dominic Church or Covenant House in her name. Due to the current COVID-19 mandates, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
