Carol B Hitzman

Carol “Jackie” Charlotte Brock Hitzman, 84, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018 in Lafayette, LA. She was born on December 25, 1933, in New Orleans, LA, the second child of the late Percy Richard and Lillian Ilene Brock. Carol grew up in Tylertown, MS and graduated from Lexie High School in 1951. She lived most of her adult life in New Orleans, LA and Metairie, LA. She worked at Perlis Clothing Store in the billing department for over 30 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed gardening, quilting and being with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Henry Hitzman, Sr. and her sisters, Edna Earl Thomas, Arey Ann Smith and Deanna Clark. Survived by her five children, Connie Charlotte Hitzman, Katherine Ilene LeRouge (Joey), Earl Henry Hitzman, Jr. (Christine), Jacquelyn Dean Thibodeaux (Gary) and Charlene Constance Hitzman (Layne), 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many family pets she adored and treated like grandchildren. A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Orleans, LA, at 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in Tylertown, MS and will be private. For those who wish, the family suggests donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mrs. Hitzman’s name. The family wishes to express gratitude for the care, support and kindness by so many excellent caregivers who consistently provided her with gentle and loving care, most notably, Hospice of Acadiana and Camelot of Broussard . Pallbearers will be Earl Henry Hitzman, Jr., Joseph Gerard LeRouge, Gary Joseph Thibodeaux, Floyd Lance Trasher, III, Ryan Joseph LeRouge, Glenn Dale Clark and Blaze Alton Clark.
