Carol Ann Beck

Carol Ann Beck, 84, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on March 22, 2022, following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, she was born on June 29, 1937, to the late Bernard Charles Meyer, Sr., and Rose Keller Meyer. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Joseph Beck, Sr., her brother, Bernard Jr., and her godchild Connie Ann Culpepper.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Beck Zollinger (Jeremy), her son, Kenneth Joseph Beck, Jr. (Kimberly), her grandchildren Sophia Rose and Antonio James Zollinger, as well as siblings Beryl, Jan, Terry and Judy, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

An accomplished seamstress, she created exquisite costumes for numerous dance and theatre productions for nearly 50 years as well as beautiful Mardi Gras costumes. Most notably, she was the costumer for the Loyola Ballet for many years and received a Big Easy Classical Arts Special Recognition Award in 2004 for her ballet costumes. In addition to attending dance and theatre productions, she enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many countries around the world.

A private funeral was held March 25, 2022. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make a donation in her name to a local animal shelter or rescue group.
