Brandon “Boogie B” Maurice Montrell, enter is heavenly home on December 23, 2022 at the age of 43.  Brandon was a native of New Orleans and lived in Woodland Hills, CA to pursue is career as a comedian.

He is preceded in death by his baby Sister Lindsay, big Brother Kevin, his Father Raymond Montrell and Grandparents Roy and Edna Montrell.

He is survived by his Mother; Sherilyn D. Price; Stepfather Charles L. Price, III; Grandparents Juanita Isom and Jessie Thompson; Siblings Raymond, Henry and Rayna; Sons Quentin, Brandon, Jr. and Maxon; Daughters Briana and Breilyn; his Godsister Dorine Carter; his devoted companion Mi'Chelle Nelson and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

Although Brandon was a professional Comedian/Actor, he worked for the T-Mobile, US Passport division, Gear Unlimited and Footlocker at various times accompanied by school and the pursuit of his entertainment career.

Brandon started his career as a rapper but found his true calling as a respected comedian. He was popular on TikTok and other social media platforms for his humorous, sharp-witted stories which focused on New Orleans culture. Most notability Let Me Stress You Out Show and New Orleans Hood History. He was a member of SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and was known for his roles in Into the Park (2022), Greed (2012) and Comedy Bad Boys 2020 (2020).

He loved Fantasy Football, his beloved New Orleans Saints and Pelicans otherwise he had no time outside his career and family.

He was raised in the Baptist Church (he had several comedic rifts on this), and always said he didn’t attend Church unless his was home and considered his parents church home to be his, though his membership was unofficial, the family attends the Macedonia Baptist Church in Slidell, LA.

Brandon was a kind, thoughtful person who made you feel like you were his best friend. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5th from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.  A service will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel. A traditional First Line will process from the funeral home to Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Avenue for his interment and then followed by a Second Line back to the funeral home. A repass to celebrate his life for family and close friends will be held at another location.

Those wishing to attend the visitation or service must wear appropriate attire out of respect for the family (no t-shirts, cutouts, club wear, etc).  Dark colors and conservative attire is preferred.

In Lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Covenant House of New Orleans in Brandon’s name.
