Ann Elizabeth Gardner, 1934-2022, a great lady with a sparkling personality who loved to travel, possessed a real flair for fashion, had an enjoyable quick wit, and was always kind and generous. She was a lifelong devoted Catholic and a real angel here on earth and in heaven! A native of New Orleans, Ann grew up in the St. Roch neighborhood and graduated from Nicholls High School. She was a career-woman working as a maritime executive assistant for the ILA New Orleans Clerks & Checkers Union. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph P. Gardner and Ellarita Fernandez Gardner; brother, Joseph Gardner, Jr.; sister, Evelyn Gardner McCleland, and brother-in-law, James T. McCleland, Jr. She is survived by her nephew and godson, James T. McCleland III (Debra); niece, Kellie Gironda (Paul), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:15 PM on Friday, June 17th in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment in St. Patrick #1 Cemetery will follow the mass.
