Allison Nuckley Indest

Allison Rose Nuckley Indest, age 51, went to her eternal rest on November 09, 2023, in Metairie Louisiana, after suffering a lengthy battle with auto immune disease and other health issues. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 08, 1972.

Allison was predeceased by her father, William J. Nuckley, Jr. and her niece, Amy M. Casey.  She was the loving wife of Jason A. Indest, and proud mother of son, Alexander “Alex” W. Indest. She is survived by her mother, Adele Brockhoeft Nuckley, brother, William “Billy” J. Nuckley III, sister, Adele Nuckley LaFerriere (Joseph), and nephew, Thomas “Tommy” J. Casey IV.

Allison graduated from Mount Carmel Academy High School, with honors, in 1990. She went on to attend the University of New Orleans and received a B.S. in Biological Sciences in December 1996. She then entered the Charity School of Nursing and received her R.N., graduating in December 1998.

After Nursing School, Allison went on to pursue a career in Pediatric Nursing at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans for 16 years. Taking care of kids was truly one of Allison’s big passions. As a Staff Nurse and Charge Nurse, she was known to do her job with great empathy, compassion, and competence. Additionally, she was hand-picked to serve on the Hospital’s Wound Care Committee.

Whether it was in College, Nursing School, Work, or volunteering often at her son’s grammar school, St Angela Merici, anyone who met Allison quickly identified what a sociable and fun-loving person she was to be around, along with her great sense of humor.  The Indest household will surely miss the Christmases that Allison would immerse herself in, especially the meticulous way she would decorate a tree, which always included a great abundance of Christmas lights.  Allison also loved to attend the parades during the Mardi Gras season and would always end her Mardi Gras watching the Rex Comus ball on TV. During the Mardi Gras season, she would also make sure to stop at Haydel’s Bakery for a king cake and purchase whatever the glass figurine of the Mardi Gras season was.

Despite all of Allison’s health issues, when she was out of the house, she smiled through the pain she endured.  She loved life and lived for Alex, her greatest passion, doing all she could, when she could, until she could do no more.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Angela Merici Church, 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002 on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, with visitation from 10:30am to 12:00pm, with mass to follow. Interment will take place after the service at Greenwood Cemetery, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
