Alicia “Alice” Amanda Guerra Troxclair passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born in New Orleans on October 19, 1928.  Alice was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy C. Troxcliar Sr., and the devoted mother of ten. She is survived by 7 of her children, LeRoy Troxclair Jr. (Sharon), Ramona Music (the late, Charles), Stelma Grillot (the late, Ernest), Cheryl Sosa (Ruben), Richard “Richie” Miller (Debbie), Irvin Miller (Terry), and Edward “Eddie” Miller (Marie); and was preceded in death by three of her children, the late Wilhelmena Davis, the late Alice Senez, and the late John D. Miller.  She was the daughter of the late Wilhelmena Mc Lean and the late Armando Guerra. She was the sister of Rose Topher Miller, as well as the late John Guerra, the late Cornelius Guerra, the late Whitney Guerra, the late Sydney Topher, the late Mae Guerra Conners, the late Zolia Guerra Conners, the late Evelyn Guerra Bonnevel, and the late Miriam Guerra Vortisch.  She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Alice, a true New Orleanian, grew up in the ninth ward. She worked many years as a phone operator for United Cab Company, as well tended bar at Franklin Avenue Billiards.  She will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her infectious laugh and her candid straight talking nature.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Alice’s life at the memorial visitation at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, followed by Catholic Mass at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
