Albert Francis Majeau, Sr. Obituary
On Saturday, September 29, 2018, Albert Francis Majeau, Sr., husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 93. A native of New Orleans, Albert graduated from Jesuit High School and served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II on PT Boat 298 in the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Brue Majeau; his seven children, Patrice (Roderick) Osborn, Albert Majeau, Jr., Eugene Majeau, Mary (John) Granier, William (Paula) Majeau, Andre (Sherrie) Majeau, and Michael (Lori) Majeau; his twenty grandchildren, Malinda (Ryan) Kelley, Sarah (Jon) Toombs expecting 19th great grandchild in December, 2018, Thomas (Keara) Osborn, Nicole (Brad) Guilmino, Amy Savant, Albert “Trey” (Amber) Majeau, III, Danielle (Trey) Ferguson, John Granier, Megan Bates, Renee Majeau, Marie Granier, Amanda (Clint) Graves expecting 20th great grandchild in March, 2019, Eugene Granier, Danita Majeau, Shelby Majeau, Jorden Majeau, Sean Majeau, Cody Majeau, Madeleine Majeau, and Liam Majeau; and his twenty great-grandchildren, Talen, Mara, and Greyer Osborn, Ethan, Jacob, Luke, Isaac, and Emma Toombs, Preston, Levi, and Wyatt Overstreet, Benjamin and Claire Kelley, Austin Majeau, Waverly and Evelina Guilmino and Rhett Savant. Also, survived by many devoted nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Marcel Majeau, his brothers, Marcel and Eugene Majeau, his sisters, Raymonde McWiggins, Mireille (Mimi) Pike, and his great-grandchild, Grant Savant.
A devout Catholic, his life will be celebrated in Eucharist at St. Rita Catholic Church at 7100 Jefferson Hwy on Saturday, October 6, 2018. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until Mass time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. JACOB SCHOEN & SON in charge of arrangements.
