Pauline DiLeo Eckert passed away on January 13, 2018, at the age of 88.
She was born in New Orleans on October 10, 1929, to the late Lucas DiLeo and Rosalie Cabibi DiLeo.
Loving wife of 67 years to Walter O. Eckert, Jr.  Pauline was preceded in death by her brothers,
John DiLeo, MD, (Rosalie), Carlo DiLeo, DDS, (Ruth), Joseph DiLeo, MD, (Isabel), Sylvester DiLeo, DDS,
(Frances) and her sister, Corinne Martino, (Anthony).  She is survived by her four children, Walter Eckert II,
(Linda), Paul Eckert, (Carla), Lizabeth Dominick, (John) and Daniel Eckert, Sr., (Sue).  Pauline is also
survived by her seven grandchildren, Walter Eckert III, (Laura), Celeste Davis, (Michael), Jay Eckert,
(Tracy), Lauren Ploch, MD, (Stefan), Daniel Eckert, Jr., Paige Dominick and Madelaine Eckert. She also
leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Andrew Davis, Haley Eckert, Audrey Eckert, Marigny Eckert
and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pauline was a 1947 graduate of Eleanor McMain High School.  She was a devoted Catholic and long-
time parishioner of St. Pius X.  She loved spending time with her family, often preparing her signature Sicilian
and Creole dishes for the entire clan.  Pauline loved cooking and shopping.  She was also an avid bridge player.
From bobby-soxer to octogenarian, she was a devotee of all things Frank Sinatra. 
Pauline was an enthusiastic football fan and enjoyed socializing with her friends. She will always be remembered as a
loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest passion was her family. Relatives and
friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, January 19, 2018 beginning at 11:00am with
visitation from 9:00am until Mass time at St. Pius X Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd,
New Orleans, LA, with interment immediately following at Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to: St Michael Special School, 1522 Chippewa St, New Orleans, LA 70130 or Louisiana SPCA,
1700 Mardi Gras Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70114
