Marie F. O’Brien
Went to heaven on June 27, 2017 to the embrace of her loving husband of 71 years.

Marie was born May 23, 1922 in Keokuk, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill O’Brien. Also preceded by her parents
Mary Loretta McNamee Moran (New Orleans) and her father Walter V. Moran (Brooklyn, NY).

She is a long time parishioner of St. James the Major Church. In later years of
St. Mary Magdelan.

Also going before her were her siblings Kay Maag, Loretta Dieling, John & Walter Moran. She was the baby of the family.

Marie is the beloved mother of Barbara O’Brien Zewe (Jack) and Linda O’Brien. She is loved by her grandchildren Jeffrey Zewe (Angelle Zewe), Bridget Zewe and
Katelyn LaBiche (Jason LaBiche).

Also loved by her great granddaughters Abigail and Savannah Zewe, and Emma LaBiche.

Marie grew up in Iowa. She joined the war effort and worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant. Upon moving back to New Orleans with her parents she continued the war effort and made airplane parts for fighter planes.

While her husband Bill served in the Navy for 31 years she did the job of both parents.

Our Mom was a wonderful caring person. Family meant everything to her.

Marie is also survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Azinger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her.

Dear sweet Mama, we will miss you always. Until we meet again dear Mama you will always be in our hearts.

Many thanks to all the caring friends we made with Notre Dame Hospice. It was very brief but such a good experience. Thank you for your kindness.
