My heart is broken! I met Maria during hurricane Katrina when she fled to Georgia, I fostered her dogs , boogie & tango and made a good friend in Maria. I received a returned Christmas card today that I sent to her in dec 2018, I had no idea my friend was gone .... broken hearted ....

I just found out today. I feel sad. I’ve been thinking of visiting at the dance school. I knew Maria for a long time. We danced and performed together many times. She was great. I always admired her. I will miss her. I’ll always remember her.

i dated Maria after she graduated high school. She and my wife were great friends. i our lives drifted apart... we no longer live in New Orleans. i am so sadden to read about her passing. there will always be a special place in my heart for her. to this day i wear a religious medal she gave me before i went to Viet Nam. i will shed a tear and say a prayer........

I'm sorry I'm so late posting this condolence for Maria. I just found out last week that she had passed. I've known Maria since I was 15 - we went to high school together, she was in my wedding party and we attended many functions together when we were young. I never knew that she was ill. Maria was a wonderful, beautiful person, always joyful and loved teaching dance. I will miss her tremendously and want to express my sympathy to all of her relatives and friends. She will be sincerely missed.

Just found out last night that Maria has passed away to my amazment. If only I would have known I would have been at her final services. She is sincerely missed . She was such a delightful person full of life and joy was her make up. She will be sadly missed. J.C. Souhlas

I knew Maria for some time and want to express my deepest sympathies for the loss of an amazing woman. One memory I want to share is that when I had to move from where I was living Uptown unexpectedly Maria offered to open her home to me until the apartment I was to receive was ready for occupancy Maria was always immaculately groomed and had one of the most beautiful smiles one could have. I will miss her sorely and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Ms Maria will be missed. She was an amazing dancer and a great dance teacher and she was my dance teacher for 8 years. Along with being my dance teacher she was my families good friend and I loved seeing her at a lot of Mardi Gras functions. I will never forget you Ms Maria.

Ms. Maria was a wonderful teacher and an amazing dancer. I learned so much from her and had some great adventures dancing all over the state. But even more than that, she was a good friend. May her soul be at rest.
