Katherine Jane Clavin Hingle, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Luke Hingle; daughter of the late Thomas Andrew Clavin and Gladys Pauline Cambre Clavin; sister of the late Thomas Andrew Clavin, Jr., the late Marie Pauline Clavin Millbern, and the late John “Pat” Patrick Clavin; sister-in-law of the late Joy Miller Clavin, the late Roy Dean Millbern, and Lois Borel Clavin Wilcox; mother of Kathy M. Hingle, Laura A. Hingle Fatzer (Christian Jr.), Robert T. Hingle (Yolanda), Kelly A. Hingle Desmarais (Timothy), and the late Daniel L. Hingle, Jr. (the late Carol Clausen Hingle). She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Katie, Thomas, Alex, Peyton, Madeleine, Julia, and Ian and one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Mrs. Hingle was born November 9, 1932 in Port Vincent, LA. At a young age, her family moved to New Orleans where she attended St. James Major and graduated from John McDonough High School. She resided in Chalmette for most of her life until she relocated to Abita Springs after Hurricane Katrina. She was a member of St. Bernard Jubilees, B&T Travel, NAIM, and AARP. Mrs. Hingle was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, devout Catholic, longtime parishioner of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Chalmette, and current parishioner of St. Jane de Chantel in Abita Springs.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SONS, 3827 Canal Street, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:15 PM. Friends may visit after 9:00 AM. Interment in Lake Lawn Park.
