Helen M. Mehrhoff Lair Vann, age 98 passed away on June 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in New Orleans and lived in Chalmette. She was the beloved wife of the late Claude Emmet Vann. Beloved daughter of late Frank Mehrhoff Sr. and the late Pauline Fette. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Kramer, half-sisters Ruth Thibodeaux, Doris Rische, Betty Celino and Shirley Davis, half- brothers Frank and Charles Mehrhoff, her nephew Jerry Kramer, four cousins Mary Ann Turegano, John Turegano Jr., Fredrick Turegano and Evelyn Polk and close friend Louise Gonzales. Helen is survived by two nephews, Albert and Danny Kramer, her dearest friends, Dee Dee, Doris, Bernard and her granddaughter Tammy Bowden who was her caregiver. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm in the J. Garic Schoen chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, June 9, 2017.
