Elaine Claire Herty Von Dullen, age 91, died at home on June 1, 2017. She was born on November 9, 1925 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans to Richard and Marie LeBlanc Herty. She lived in Metairie for the past 53 years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Philip Adam Von Dullen, Jr.; sons, Philip Adam Von Dullen, III and David Von Dullen; daughter-in-law, Darla Pascal; sister, Lois Ann Tusa; and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Gillies and Yvonne Valley, and her brother, Gerard Herty. Elaine was a graduate of Henry W. Allen High School and worked in the shoe department at Maison Blanche on Canal Street for almost 20 years. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Angela Merici parish. The family would like to thank her aides, Glory Thomas, with whom she had a special bond, and Hazel Robinson; as well as the nurses and staff of Hospice Compassus. And a special thank you to Michael and JoAnn Tusa for all of their help and support during this time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie, LA 70002. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Louis #2 Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ronald McDonald House of New Orleans or Associated Catholic Charities of New Orleans.
