Captain Andrew Joseph Mariano, Sr., a longtime resident of Picayune, MS passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Cause of death was due to major complications prior to open heart surgery. May Andrew, his mother Marian Mae Thibodeaux and father Victor Lucien Salvadore Mariano Jr. rest in heaven. Andrew cherished family above all else. He was a beloved husband of 33 years to Jeanene Lantz Populis, father to Andrew Joseph Mariano Jr., Anthony Joseph Mariano Sr., Charloette Mae Mariano, Dwayne Allen Populis and Michael Lynn Populis. May Michael also rest in Heaven. Captain also leaves behind his sisters Tana Marie Mariano Miller, Lisa Ann Mariano Anderson and his brother Ricky Salvadore Mariano Sr. Whether Andrew is living or resting, he will forever share a lifetime love will all his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SONS, 3827 Canal Street, on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 12:15 PM. Friends may visit after 10:15 AM. Interment in Hope Mausoleum.
